ABOUT
Shandon Weekday School is a licensed preschool and school-age child development center and has served children and families of the Midlands since 1958. The preschool program serves children ages infants through 4K; the school-age program serves children after school during the school year and in a full-day summer camp environment when school is not in session. Our goal is to provide a joyful, nurturing environment to foster social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth of all children. Curriculum and activities are designed to spark the interest of and meet the individual needs of each child while also providing for each age group's needs and interests. Shandon Weekday School places great importance on giving children the necessary tools to be lifelong learners. SWS supports children of all races, creeds, and religious backgrounds.
PROGRAMS
FULL DAY PRESCHOOL
The Full Day Preschool program is a twelve-month program for children Infants (8 weeks) through 4K.
Children finishing 4K are guaranteed enrollment in the school-age programs if desired.

Program hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hot lunches and snacks are served daily.

Weekly music class for 3s+.

Enrichment opportunities in art, ballet, soccer, and karate available for an additional fee.

Enrichment opportunities in music, foreign languages, computer skills, and field trips are included in our curriculum where developmentally appropriate.

Children transported in state-approved mini buses for any field trips.

Richland School District One's lead is followed for weather-related emergency closings.

Open-door policy.

Two teachers per classroom.

Lower than state-mandated teacher-to-student ratios.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
The School-Age Program is a year-round OR school-year-only (parents' choice) program for children 5K through 8th grade enrolled in public or private school.

Program hours:
School year: 2:30 to 6 p.m.
Summer: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. -
Children are grouped into rooms according to grade in school.

Transportation available in state approved mini buses from AC Moore, Rosewood, Meadowfield, Brennen, Brockman, Satchel Ford Elementary Schools, as well as St. Joseph's and Montessori School of Columbia. Students from Hand Middle School walk one block to our facility along a prescribed route.

All-day school-age program available subject to Richland School District One's holidays and closings. No additional fee charged on these days. Hot lunch served.

Enrichment opportunities in piano, art, dance, gymnastics, karate, soccer, and field trips for an additional fee.

Snacks provided each day and hot lunches on full days.
Children in these programs are guaranteed enrollment in Summer Discovery if desired, as described at right.
SCHOOL-AGE SUMMER DISCOVERY CAMP
Full Day Summer Discovery Camp is a summer-long fun enrichment camp for children going into 5K through grade 8.

7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. -
Each grade level has its own dedicated Summer Discovery Camp room.

Each grade level has its own developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Hot lunches prepared on-site and snacks are served daily.

Every Summer Discovery Camper will participate in guest faculty-led mini-camps at no extra cost, to include Art, Soccer Shots, Literacy Legends, Sports Superstars, and Clay Sculpting. More TBA.
